Big Fur w/ Swansgate
BIG FUR is a slick, versatile animal of a band that pounces between genres and sounds through elaborate compositions and intense improvisation. The band cultivates an original sound that takes southern rock, country, and bluegrass to its highest dynamic peaks, and most electrifying psychedelic edges.
BIG FUR consists of members Andrew Poirier (guitar/vox), Shane Obrien (guitar/vox), Jacob Bruner (keys/vox), Joe Marino (bass/vox), and Grady Hemm (drums). The quintet formed in late 2023 and quickly generated a catalogue of diverse original music and uniquely arranged covers. The band made their debut in December 2023 at One World Brewing West, and has been building traction since. Despite being a new band BIG FUR continues to perform on some of the most notable stages in Asheville including: PULP Speakeasy at the Orange Peel, and Salvage Station.

Swansgate
Formed in small town in North Carolina by 3 close friends, Swansgate was originally set up in the likeness of a jazz trio. The musical direction of Stu Draughn manifested as a series of long, mostly instrumental, compositions for keys (Stu Draughn), drums (Michael McKinney), and bass (Gabe McKinney). Over time, the original direction of the band evolved into a more symphonic approach to making music. With more and more elements being added to each composition, Swansgate decided to enlist drummer Mike Kaloudis to replace Michael McKinney, so that he could commit to playing guitar, and keyboards. Now, Swansgate’s live set contains loads of keyboard parts, samples, and other sounds. Currently based out of Charlotte, NC, their debut album, “Becoming Someone” is set for independent release on April 29, 2022.
