From the Reggae Festivals, ski lodges, and clubs in Maine, Vermont, Connecticut , Massachusetts, and New Hampshire – Saylyn Roots Reggae Band is pleased to have arrived in the Beautiful Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, and eager to blend its roots reggae and positive vibrations with the region’s diverse music scene and pure love for music and fun! Saylyn’s Danny Lyn, is a native of Jamaica, who entered the US via New York City, where he carried his equipment on the subway to play in Motown-influenced bands. By chance, and ready to leave NYC, he settled in small, quiet New Hampshire, where the country setting awakened his reggae roots. Saylyn was born as a two-piece reggae band- Danny on guitar, and brother Barry playing percussion. With contributions from many talented artists to complete the reggae sound, Saylyn became New England’s distinguished reggae band over a span of many years. Today, Danny and his son, Joshua Lyn, Are pleased to introduce Saylyn to the WNC region with musicians Michael Tao, Casey Jones, and Kevin Cole- Guitar, Bass and keyboards. And spontaneous and impulsive guest appearances by other Asheville reggae musicians joining the jam!
