The Swingbillies of Boonetown is an acoustic ensemble centred around the musical brotherhood of Southern Appalachian fiddler, Meade Richter, Turkish finger-style guitarist, Savash Altuntas, and world percussionist, Jonathan Priest. Their music is compelling, emotional, and dynamic, melding elements from their backgrounds in American and Middle Eastern traditions with modern influences and the refinement of their conservatory training to deliver a performance that is unique, poignant, and mesmerising. With haunting vocal harmonies and spontaneous instrumental improvisations, they tell the story of rural artists from opposite sides of the globe who have traveled the world and united through music, conveying universal themes of seeking enlightenment, inspiring joy, and overcoming hardship.
