Jim Swayze is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter based in Asheville, NC. He moved from Chicago to Asheville in 2016 and has been working as a performing and recording artist across the WNC area since then.

He was a finalist in Asheville’s Brownbag Songwriting Competition in 2017 and 2019, and was a showcase artist at AVL Fest 2024. He is currently preparing for the release of his fourth album.

Opening the Show is Thomas Kozak and the Poets which encompasses the name given to the projects and collaborations of Asheville songwriter Thomas Kozak. His writing pulls myth and religion through the split-open skull of an obsessive-compulsive, anchoring the past to a new body and giving it voice through and beyond the conventions of folk and Americana.
