Equal parts vulnerable as she is cheeky, Rachel May’s mystic soul-folk shines through a uniquely feminine lens. Hailing out of Baltimore, Maryland, her songs are lyrically driven by a roots-deep love for musical storytelling and self-expression.

With her earliest influences attributed to the works of Todd Snider, Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, and Johnny Cash, it’s no wonder her own music is curious, exploratory, and poignant in each song’s unraveling of itself. Over time, her folksy roots sprouted wings, as she became heavily inspired by Django Jazz, high-energy funk, and bluegrass traditions.
